PTSI poised to take advanatge of an extraordinary growing market opportunity

Project Team Solutions, Inc. (PTSI) was founded in June of 2002 and became a Meridian Reseller Partner shortly thereafter. They currently have over 30 staff members who provide products and services to some of the world's top Architectural, Engineering, Development and Construction firms. Due to the strong demand for their offerings, their client list topped 600 firms in 2007.

The company was founded by Ty Witmer who graduated from Penn State University in Construction Management/Architectural Engineering. During his educational term, Witmer concentrated on the advantages that technology could bring to construction firms looking to improve their business process management (BPM). He quickly recognized that his research was relevant to the way major companies were being run, and what steps could be taken to increase the use of technology to advance BPM processes.

After college, Witmer joined an ENR top firm and rose through the ranks from field engineering to Project Executive. Later, he ran construction operations for a medium-sized general contractor. During this time, Witmer's experience further validated that Architectural, Engineering, Construction, and Development organizations used many inefficient methods for managing their projects. Coincidentally, this realization coincided with Witmer's discovery of Prolog Manager from Meridian.

"I was extremely impressed with how well the product met the unique needs of the construction management process," says Ty Witmer, President, PTSI. "I remember thinking that it was obvious that the people that designed the product clearly had experience actually running projects. They weren't just a bunch of software guys that ‘imagined' how the industry worked."

In no time, Witmer decided to start his own company so that he could use his experience to help other companies gain efficiencies in their operational processes and Project Team Solutions, Inc was founded.

When founding PTSI, Witmer surveyed the market to find the best industry solutions for project controls. His findings validated his sentiments that Meridian had the best products and PTSI based the majority of their services around Meridian's technology.

"We have had phenomenal success and much of it can be attributed to our partnership with Meridian," says Witmer. "They have great products but more importantly they have been great people to work with."

In the short time before becoming a Meridian partner, PTSI could only recommend process improvements to companies. They simply acted as a consulting firm helping companies identify their inefficiencies. But once they were a Meridian partner they were able to not only explore their customers' inefficiencies, but also offer solutions to overcome them.

Additionally, PTSI now offers a value added product that works directly with Prolog. Encompass is a software suite designed to facilitate project collaboration and controls for construction. Utilizing a browser-based interface to Prolog Manager, users are able to enter, retrieve, review, edit, and report on critical project information, based upon Prolog security credentials. Encompass automates and centralizes the collection, verification, and entry of paper-based and electronic data, while providing intelligent processing coupled with features to streamline Prolog Manager data entry activities.

"We really can see the positive impact that we make for companies because we work really hard to make sure our clients are successful using Meridian products," says Witmer. "Our customers can save tremendous sums of money and realize a huge return on their investment - it is extremely satisfying to get those kind of results for our customers."

Aside from their world class professionals who specialize in customizing the various features and integrating the products into business processes combined with their Meridian Partnership, PTSI believes that their success can also be attributed to a change in the attitude towards new technology in the workforce. Since this next generation of project managers has grown up with the internet, they readily embrace new ways of doing things. Additionally, there have been substantial advancements regarding internet connectivity, mobile computing, and software technologies. These improvements are a catalyst for transformation from manual and inefficient methods of data collection and team collaboration to more effective technology-based systems.

"I really feel that the stars have aligned for us," concluded Witmer. "The industry as a whole now really understands the value of implementing these systems."
